Saved from the firewood pile some months ago, the log from which I made this looked really promising on the outside. I could see signs of spalting - the amazing patterns drawn in the wood by Mother Nature. When I cut it open, I was delighted with the 'drawings'.

For that reason, I have crafted this memory key / jump drive / thumb drive somewhat bigger than most commercially produced ones, so as not to waste any of Mother Nature's magical artwork.

I do favour a finish that allows the ‘woodiness’ of the material to show through rather than a glossy varnish and most of what I have on sale feature an oil and hard wax finish.

Superstitious?

…then with a wooden memory stick, you can always ‘Touch Wood’!

Not strictly jewellery I know, but this jump drive deserves to be shown off. It has 1 Gigabyte of memory. I'm told 1 GB will accept anything between 250 and 1000 photographs depending on quality settings. Or 250 MP3s at 128kB/s.

It's fitted with a sturdy key ring.

The memory stick measures about 3" x 1.5" x 0.5".
