My inspiration comes mainly from the stones themselves, with their wonderful colours and patterns they evoke images of nature, local habitats and distant landscapes. I may work from sketches if I have a particular idea in mind, or just let the wire run away with me……….the unpredictable nature of this can be quite exciting!
This method of working is time consuming, but I love the simplicity of working with wire, weaving and layering to add texture and dimension. I like earthy, adventurous styling that doesn’t overpower the natural stones, and is robust enough for everyday wear. Wire provides texture and movement, and the structural qualities required to safely encapsulate the stones and follow their form. To weave and twist in a freeform style gives the pieces an energy rarely seen in mass produced jewellery.

These stones are ethically sourced, and are hand cut and polished in Britain.
