My inspiration comes mainly from the stones themselves, with their wonderful colours and patterns they evoke images of nature, local habitats and distant landscapes. I may work from sketches if I have a particular idea in mind, or just let the wire run away with me……….the unpredictable nature of this can be quite exciting!
This method of working is time consuming, but I love the simplicity of working with wire, weaving and layering to add texture and dimension. I like earthy, adventurous styling that doesn’t overpower the natural stones, and is robust enough for everyday wear. Wire provides texture and movement, and the structural qualities required to safely encapsulate the stones and follow their form. To weave and twist in a freeform style gives the pieces an energy rarely seen in mass produced jewellery.
These stones are ethically sourced, and are hand cut and diamond polished in Britain. Some are no longer mined and thus very rare.

A brilliant lime green necklace with a sturdy rectangular multi-weave design. A tactile, textural piece of jewellery with matching leather cord.
This Green Arizona Turquoise with Bronze Metal is a unique material from Arizona that is Kingman grade turquoise with metal veins added to the material; it is not reconstituted but high grade turquoise.

This jewellery has been created using weaving, layering and dimensional shaping techniques to achieve an interesting, energetic form that flows. A unique and rare green turquoise stone is held securely in copper wire, intricately wrapped and manipulated to be structurally sound and complimentary to the shape and character of the stone.
This piece has been oxidised to give an antique appearance.
