This is such a beautiful place, especially when the pinks are in flower. The whole cliff is softened by them.

I love this wild place at the far west of the Duchy, on the Lizard Peninsula (now in the care of the National Trust). The old lifeboat house has seen some heroic action in it's time but now it has passed it's life saving duties to a new, more modern building further down the coast and lies quietly idle. Pinks and samphire tumble in drifts down the craggy cliff and tourists wander until it's time for a cuppa and a slice of cake at the cafe above.
The prints featured here are wood engravings. I engraved onto endgrain blocks made of box, pear or lemonwood and print the blocks using a vintage Farley cylinder proofing press. I've had prints (including this one) accepted into the Society of Wood Engravers annual touring exhibition and the Wood Engravers Network (USA), very prestigious and attracting engravers worldwide. I'm deeply honoured to be included. Sadly the very fine nature of the engraving process took it's toll on my eyes and I no longer produce them.
'Lizard-Lifeboat House' was printed as an edition of 60 and the image size is 17 cm high x 13.5 cm wide. It was printed by hand using a Farley proof press onto Sunome Senaka paper.
THIS LISTING IS FOR ONE PRINT IN THE EDITION ONLY. The print offered is one of 60 and is as similar to the one in the photos as the hand printing process can make it.
The print will be safely packed in a clear plastic sleeve and posted in a stout card envelope.
Postage is by first class post.
