I work with young children and we often use buttons in creative and artistic play. Whilst drawing self portraits, I noticed a child drawing themselves and using buttons as their eyes, and another child using buttons as their own face. I visualised a lovely picture frame of a family portrait with children using a similar style. I think the buttons capture a sense of silliness as well as a loving family home.
