A striking and beautiful nuno felted scarf.
This scarf is made using a beige silk chiffon base fabric. A very fine layer of beige merino wool fibres have been laid over both sides and surface embellishment using various fancy yarns and threads in different shades of brown have been added in a diagonal strip pattern. The scarf has then been nuno felted, a process that results in the woollen fibres penetrating the silk fabric and binding with it whilst also trapping the yarn threads in place. Included in the embellishment is some glitter ribbon yarn which gives the scarf some extra sparkle. The yarn threads have been left long at the ends of the scarf to create a multi textural tassel. The embellishment has been added to one side of the scarf only with the reverse side felted with merino wool but left plain.
The scarf drapes beautifully around the neck and is amazingly lightweight. The body of the scarf measures approximately 116cm x 34cm (45.8" x 13.4") with the tassels adding an additional 25cm (10") to each end, giving an overall length of 166cm (65.4"). It would make a fabulous spring or summer accessory but equally usable in the cooler seasons.
An ideal gift, this scarf is provided wrapped in floral tissue paper with full care instructions.
Hand wash in warm water, do not machine wash or tumble dry.
