While we were touring Japan searching for Kimono fabric (& Sake) nearly 2 years ago, we luckily managed to visit a company near Fushimi, Kyoto.
The company was called Kyoto Kimono Conservation Society run by Mrs.Nitanai who had published several books about old Kimono.
We kept in touch and I purchased a box full of vintage Kimono fabric pieces last year.
I use them various ways: lining for masks related to Japan, framed as an art piece etc...
This particular silk piece was from a young girl in Kyoto probably around 1950-60.
Simple design and almost invisible pattern in the background red colour.
