Hand Bound Book with a coptic stitched spine which allows the book to lay completely flat when open.

Hand painted, typed and then stitched - It makes a perfect journal to record memories, thoughts and experiences.

My trusty assistant Dororthy (my 1950's baby hermes typewriter) will type whatever words or phrases you would like on to the front cover.

Mindful of the materials I use, the cover is made from handmade Cotton rag paper which uses waste from the t-shirt industry. Inside are 120 pages (60 sheets) of UK produced recycled cartridge paper interspersed with more of that gorgeous cotton rag paper.

The book is approximately A6 size (11 X 15cm approx)

I love hand stitching, whether embroidery or book binding. As I make these books, I like to think about what they will contain when the pages have been filled. people buy them for all sorts of occasions - they are used as wedding journals, memory books, somewhere for writers and artists to empty their minds. poets to dream and artists to experiment.

Being able to type whatever words you can dream of on to the front results in some truly poignant and beautiful text, sometimes uplifting, sometimes poetic, sometimes humerous.
