I vary the colours of my cats depending on which glass comes to my attention first when I decide to make one. Today streaky white and grey popped out of the box so that's what I've made.
Only colour I won't make is all, or mostly, black as when I cut out my glass I lay the glass on top of the pattern and trace the pattern onto the glass. I then cut the pieces out.
I can't do this with black glass as I can't see through it so have to make pattern templates for all the black bits. This means that the black pieces when cut are not as accurately shaped so they take me about 4 times as long to shape as glass I can see through.

Full description
This is a stained glass suncatcher made using the Tiffany copper foil technique.
It is a cat, a gorgeous white and grey using lots of streaky glass to give movement and an impression of fur. The eyes are cut from twinkly dichroic glass.
The cat is in the shape of a ring with the top surround in a pretty pale amber..
There is a border of twisted wire round the ring to strengthen it and finish it off neatly.
I think it looks really lovely hanging in the window, catching the light. This will make a wonderful present and especially for any cat lover.
The suncatcher ring hangs from a chain which is securely attached to two sides at the top. It is 13.25cm in diameter.
This item is absolutely unique. I never make two pieces exactly the same, I always use slightly different colours and textures of glass for each piece to ensure they are unique.
