Decorated Highland lichen design Treasure box, Jewellery box Memory box Pet loss Baby keepsake box.
This is decorated wooden box with ornate metal corner protectors & catch. It has an incredibly detailed design on the lid derived from a close up photograph of lichen which I took in the Scottish Highlands. In this listing the box is in turquoise with the design in teals, crimsons, moss greens and golds...

Using a developed process, I 'melt' the design into the wood which is then lacquered. The box is made from Empress wood, which is quite a light weight wood, and the inside is lined with a paper, which may vary from the one shown in the listing photographs, but it will usually be white and silver.

The irregular edge of the design on the lid is studded with tiny dots of metallic paint, and the box has been aged and highlighted using metallic wax. The ornate corner protectors have been hammered into place using little brass nails, and the beautiful brass clasp has a two part action.

The treasure box in this listing measures approx. 20 x 15 x 11 cm (approx. 8" X 5 3/4" X 4 1/4")
Other sizes are available and they can all be customised with a name or a phrase on the lid or the front...just add the details in the comments at the point of ordering.

This has an incredibly detailed lid made from a close up photograph of lichen which I took in the Scottish Highlands. The photograph was so beautiful showing such a variety of textures, patterns and colours that I just had to ‘do’ something with it!

You can cancel the order and get a refund (minus the original postage costs) within 7 days of receipt, provided the item has not been used or marked. You are responsible for the cost of the return postage and proof of posting must be obtained, retained and produced if required. Faulty items can be returned for a full refund within six months of payment being made. (Custom orders, however, cannot be cancelled or returned unless faulty).

Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.
