These adjustable wooden stools are a great design but sadly no longer in production so I'm always on the lookout for old ones to refurbish.
I took this stool apart and gave all the pieces a good sanding before painting them in Mole's Breath grey. Then I glued and screwed it all back together and finished the screw holes with oak pegs.
The seat top was upholstered with a topper of firm foam fixed with calico before being covered in Gotland sheepskin. Gotland sheep hair varies between fluffy-curly and silky-curly. This one is on the silkier side. Gotland sheepskin is quite low-maintenance and this seat top should be happy with a go-over with the hoover nozzle every now and then.
