initial letter 'S' handpainted in purple with Scots thistles on high quality watercolour paper, framed within a 120 x 120mm square double ivory mount.

Thistles are known generally as an emblem of Scotland and they represent strength and defiance - i love their mixture of green and purple.

CUSTOM IDEA - ANY letter can be painted with thistles - tell me when ordering if you would like a different one painted, .

Your order will be sent within 3-5 days of being placed and paid for - by First Class if to within the UK and by Airmail if to outside the UK. (Rest assured I will pack your initial in several layers of cardboard to ensure you receive it in perfect condition.)

Finished outer size is - 120 x 120mm or 4 and 3/4" square - with the letter itself measuring approx 35 x 38mm.

I love painting Thistles! They are so easily stylised and are so decorative. My favourite part of painting them is when adding the palest purple to the flowerheads then the tiny hairs all along the stems adding definition and detail.

Purple is my favourite colour so I am a little biased.

Letter is approx 36 x 38mm on watercolour paper of outer size 120 x 120mm, same as the double ivory mount.
