I designed this as a "G for Geroge, G is for Goldfish" for my lovely grandson George. The water to the left is in the clear shape of a G in the first version I made for him.

Full description

This is a stained glass suncatcher made using the Tiffany copper foil technique.

I designed this as a Goldfish in a bowl as something very special for a gift for my new grandson George. I loved it so much I added it to my catalogue.

The goldfish is made from textured amber glass, the water round the fish is pale blue and to the left a deeper variety of shades of turquoise.

The fish is blowing bubbles, little glass gems which give a lovely texture to the finished picture. I've left the spaces between the bubbles for added effect.

It is 5 in diameter, hangs from a silvery chain and looks stunning. I generally neaten the age of circular suncatchers with a twisted wire frame but for this one I deliberately leave it slightly uneven carrying on the idea of waves round the edge. I think it adds to the charm of the piece.

This will make a wonderful present for someone or just for yourself as it is very special and absolutely unique.

I never make two pieces exactly the same. Even from the same pattern I always use slightly different colours and textures of glass.
