Here is a opportunity for you to learn how to make fine silver jewellery for yourself, using silver clay. Based in a small workshop in North Wales, close to the sea and mountains you can learn how to prepare clay, make moulds, shapes, fire and polish your own pieces of jewellery.
This is usually a one to one session so you have the full attention of the tutor. What you make is entirely based on your own ideas and limitations.
Fee includes a light lunch and refreshments as well as 20g of fine silver clay for you work. If you have a large project there may be an additional cost for extra silver (approx £50 for 20g).
This is an opportunity for YOU to make your own jewellery using an amazing substance called silver clay. Pictures show examples of students work, none of whom had made jewellery before.
What is silver clay?
Silver clay is a substance, developed in Japan, to recycle silver left from x-rays and photography. it allows you to cut and mould clay into intricate designs prior to drying and firing in a kiln. As the china clay burns off you are left with fine silver (999). The process has enabled complete beginners to create complex designs.
your work will need to be sent for hallmarking and will be sent direct to you.
