Contained within each enchanting oval shaped sterling silver drop earring is a single, Scottish dandelion seed which as been preserved beneath layers of crystal clear resin. This little dandelion seed was gathered from a small meadow in Inverness and was amongst some of the last of the year to bloom. I like to think of the little dandelion seed as asleep within each pendant.

In Scotland during the spring and summer, it is common for people in Scotland to catch a little dandelion seed that is drifting along in the wind and hold it tightly within their hand. The person now has to close their eyes, make a wish and then release it back into the wind, hoping that their wish made on the seed would come true. I wanted to incorporate this idea into a pendant and to pass on a wish to others who may chance upon the little dandelion seed.

Dandelion seeds symbolise joy, wishing and childhood memories but are also known to bring luck. Dandelion is also associated with healing and regeneration.

The pendant is solid sterling silver and measures 25mm x 18mm and is small enough to be subtle, elegant and eye catching. The earrings hooks are in the lever back style but plain sterling silver hooks are avalaible on request.

Within the black background are tiny flecks of silver- this is tiny bubbles that exist around the dandelion seed. I like to think of these as looking like stardust and adds an extra element of interest to each earring.
