This is a stained glass suncatcher made using the Tiffany copper foil technique.
A Cowslip, which I designed for a commission in 2013 and then mislaid my pattern. Now come back to life and I decided to make another in time for spring.
It is a simple floral design, of a very pretty yellow flower with green rounded leaves.
The five little yellow flower heads are each made from 4 little pieces of glass, in two shades of yellow, So the flower comprises 25 pieces of glass all individually cut, shaped, copper foiled and soldered.
The suncatcher hangs from a silvery chain which is securely attached to the top of the flower which is 5 inches high.
This item is absolutely unique. I never make two pieces exactly the same, I always use slightly different colours and textures of glass for each piece even when making the same pattern.
It will make a lovely present for anyone. It looks absolutely beautiful hanging in the window where it shines and catches the light and welcomes in the sunshine.
A lovely present tfor Mother's Day or at any time for someone you love and is guaranteed to be totally unique.
Spring. It has sprung and the cowslips in my garden are just coming in to flower. I studied one of them when choosing which glass to use.
Well it had when I first designed this in about 2013 and then I mislaid the pattern. Now come to light in the middle of winter nicely in time for 2018 spring !
