About a decade ago, I worked in a particularly cold office, so I made some fingerless mitts from a pattern in a magazine. My hands were so cold, I wanted something I could wear to type. I fell in love with them. I kept finding different uses for them, and found myself wearing them more and more.

There were some basic problems with the fit and style, so I decided to design my own mitts, and over the years I have experimented with yarns and sizes. I have now perfected my pattern and can carry on finding new and inventive designs for the backs.

I recently found the perfect yarn for mitts and was inspired to try this infinite cable design with shaping built in. It's quite a difficult knit, but the end product is so pretty, I really enjoy making them. I am very pleased with these particular mitts, as the pattern and yarn combination works very well.
