I have considered making some of my designs in gold but at the moment gold prices are high so I looked for an alternative metal. Many antique pieces would have been made from gold filled metal. It is quite difficult to find gold filled sheet so when I happened across a supplier quickly got to work. No soldering was required with this design and the natural doming created by hammering over soft wood gave me the look I was after.

Stunningly simply gold filled earrings 2.1mm long and 1.8 wide suspended from a fish hook ear wire. A matching pendant is also available.

What is Gold filled ? for something to be considered gold filled, the gold content must exceed or equal 5%. Gold filled jewellery has a much thicker layer of gold than gold plated and therefore much more durable.
