9. Although the spoon has been left rough finished with the knife marks still visible I like the way the tight growth rings run up the bowl and along the handle even giving a chevron look to sections of it on the back of the handle

Description
With all the things I make I try to use wood that would otherwise go to waste or get burnt. This spoon was made from a chunk of wood I found in a wood pile while camping, I thought it was took wet to burn so decided to carve it into a spoon instead. Unfortunately because I didn't see any leaves or bark on the wood i'm not sure what species of wood it is but I like the tight grain and orange colour of it
I sat and carved it around the camp fire and wanted to preserve the ad-hoc nature of its carving so decided to leave it with the knife marks on it rather than sanding it to a smooth finish
