A pair of handmade lace in boot plates. These are crafted with upcycled copper, using traditional repoussé and chasing techniques; there is no automation involved in their creation, just my two hands and an assortment of hand tools.

These are an original design of mine; for a long time I have wanted some way to adorn footwear without having to modify the footwear its self and so have taken the time to figure out how to utilise the laces to do so, but in a manner that does not affect the functioning of the boots or shoes. They are lightweight so do not fatigue the wearer's legs and they do not interfere with the working of the laces or the boot, so your favourite footwear remains as comfortable as ever.

In the pictures I have added a brief guide on how I lace the plates onto my boots, however they are compatible with other lace patterns and it is fairly easy to do either using the pictures provided or using your own method.

Hello! Welcome to my emporium of weirdness!

The inspiration behind this item is because more metal is always better!

Seriously though; a big part of what has prompted me to create these is my background as a biker. Among many reasons for my enjoyment of riding, and as childish as it may be, it is a convenient excuse satisfy my love for ancient arms and armour and desire to wear armour in every day life. I designed them with bikers in mind but I feel they would be at home in the arsenal of LARP, cosplay, or fantasy enthusiast's too.

The other part of the inspiration behind them is the narrative I use to ground the style of my current work in a setting. I have a love for old items that have lost their meaning through time, so I wrote a character that lives far in the future when what exists today has long since been lost, who takes flight to explore the world, picking up the trail of some of the cultures that have lived and died between our time and hers, salvaging and re-purposing items of lost meaning found along the way.
