The clock is handmade from solid chestnut and bubinga finished with polyurethane varnish and measures 510mm x 165mm. It has a quartz mechanism running off a AA battery

Items such as: clocks, boxes and other wooden items, are handmade, chiefly using hand tools, by me from various choice wood species such as: figured European oak, ash, bubinga (kevazingo), chestnut, kosipo, London plane (lacewood) subject to availability. Personalized script or graphics can be added using hand or laser etching, or inlaying where veneers are used, at extra cost.

Looking for current, contemporary or seasonal ideas to make from my wood stock, it was watching TV coverage of Glastonbury festival when I thought that a guitar shape would be a suitable basis for a wall clock. A piece of chestnut was used for the body and Bubinga for the neck.
