As a starting artist looking to fund my college btec and living expenses I decided to sell jewellery as a way to fund my work whilst gaining skill and making a name for myself.
This design is based on the first necklace I made at college for a geometry project, using lines triangles and semi circles to make up a fish I emphasised the geometric patterns of fish and made my own fastening. The colour was produced by firing the copper.

Full description
Hand cut, patterned and fired copper held by steel loop and cord. The piece is polished with renaissance wax to preserve the shine and colour and to prevent tarnishing.
The cord measures around 45cm (roughly 18inches)
The copper and the cord is second hand (though not second best) so will not contribute negatively to the environment!
Method:
The copper is cut with metal snips and patterned by hammering wire against the metal. Using a butane torch against the copper causes coloured effects depending on how hot it gets.
No fish were harmed in the making of this product.
Care:
Do not wear during heavy exercise, or whilst swimming or washing. Prolonged exposure to water, salt, acids or chemicals may remove the colouring from the firing process. To retain colouring and shine on jewelry for as long as possible applying Renaissance wax is recommended.
