A local Joiners shop was throwing out some off cuts from a job , a conservatory with long mahogany beams. I fluttered my eye lids nicely and a few off cuts were passed over, some to become these lovely little bowls. They are even sweeter, as that Joinery shop uses the offcuts to heat the premisies in the winter, so another lovely piece of timber saved from the wood pile. (I like re-using, reclaiming, finding a use for bits that others throw aways, it seems to make them even more beatiful to my eyes!)

130mm diameter x 57 mm high x 265 grams weight A lovely Hardwood bowl, with for a dressing table (My Daughter has one to keep her nick knacks in) or a mantle piece, or maybe in the kitchen. It is finished with a Melamine lacquer which is listed as being heatproof and water resistant and suitable for toys by Chestnut Products. (we eat on melamine plates from the Disney store in our house:- but you'll have to make a judgement about its suitability for foodstuffs)
