This item is part of a flower girl collection i'm working on. I love the idea of miniature gardens and flowers that look so real you could touch it. whilst studying Orchids as a main flower interest i moved onto poppies with a collaboration of portraiture.The inspiration is taken from the re-raph era of classical women against a natural garden backdrop iv embedded these ideas in depicting the similar themes in African/Caribbean cultural art. The flowers translate to the beauty of the women as she poses in a natural environment, a lot of my art in the flower girl series is aimed to raise positivism surrounding the heavily debated natural black hair and to draw creative discussion around this subject. This particular item is a wooden plaque with beads and jewels it is also available in my greeting card collection.
