I love dogs and cats, but find cats keep creeping into my paintings more and more. I find they have such a fluid, organic form and I love sketching them, which is quite easy since once they find anywhere warm, they can spend hours sleeping off the previous night's hunt. Some of the shapes they can morph themselves into are pretty amazing!
Anyone who has ever had a cat should be able to relate to the story behind these paintings. You might be able to teach a dog some rules, but cats are their own masters.
As I've mentioned in a few other listings, my background is in languages and teaching, and idioms fascinate me. My second solo show was entitled "More Than Words" and each piece was based on an English expression, including this one listed here.
