I have always loved the 'Cat In The Hat' books by Dr Seuss, not only for the rhymes and stories but also for the illustrations of crooked, fantasy houses. I also love ancient buildings, especially castles, so when I made this fairy house, I wanted to create that kind of feeling...hopefully the fairies and elves like it too!

This mushroom is made with love and sent to you from my ceramics studio in Taff's Well, in the heart of south Wales

Full description

This stunning fairy house has so much detail to interest and delight you. It could brighten up a corner of your garden, be a talking point in your home or make an unusual and original gift.

The detailed modelling shows a spiral staircase leading up to the front door, with a lucky white cat on the steps; there are windows pierced through the wall, and colourful butterflies sun themselves. Colourful mushrooms grow at the base of the wall and a rambling red rose climbs up the wall towards the roof. The mushroom-shaped roof is a bright red colour, with white spots.

When used outdoors, you can put it a the bottom of the garden to attract the fairies or elves that live there, but even better to place it near your house where you can see it and enjoy it yourself.

A small candle can also be placed underneath the house which will shine through the windows, or an incense cone lit underneath to perfume the air.

The house is made from durable stoneware clay, glazed and fired to a high temperature which makes it completely weather-proof, whatever the weather, and can be left outdoors all year round!

The fairy house measures 28cm from the ground to the apex of the roof and 9cm across the base.

!!! PLEASE NOTE, I POST TO UK MAINLAND ONLY AT THE PRICE QUOTED. IF YOU LIVE IN THE CHANNEL ISLANDS, ISLE OF MAN, HIGHLANDS & ISLANDS, THERE MAY BE AN ADDITIONAL COST FOR POSTAGE WHICH I AM HAPPY TO ESTIMATE BEFORE YOU PURCHASE !!!
