This is new for me and I saw it as a real challenge. The Weeping Woman is my favourite Picasso painting as it just oozes with dramatic and horrifying feeling/atmosphere!

Full description

My interpretation of 'The Weeping Woman' by Pablo Picasso, 1937.

Gallery price:£225. From me: £135.

QUOTE:The Weeping Woman series is regarded as a thematic continuation of the tragedy depicted in Picasso's epic painting Guernica. In focusing on the image of a woman crying, the artist was no longer painting the effects of the Spanish Civil War directly, but rather referring to a singular universal image of suffering.

This is a unique glass painting consisting of: powdered glass , frit glass, dichroic glass, glass stringers, and clear bullseye glass. This painting took three firings and a huge amount of time to complete. It was created more for the challenge of doing it and certainly not for the money! If I was to price it on how many hours it took it would be in the region of: £700.

Each one of my pictures is completely original. They are individually hand-painted to ensure that no two can be the same. It is my love for what I do that drives me to create my pictures. I can never be completely sure how a painting will look when it comes out of the kiln, but it is always a pleasant surprise.

The white wooden frame has picture hooks on the reverse so it ready to hang.

Each picture is signed and dated on the reverse. It is also discretely initialled on the front.

Wooden frame: 35.5cm x 30.5cm x 1.5cm

Glass painting: 24cm x 19.5cm x 3mm

Designed by Alison MacVicar in Stewarton, Ayrshire, Scotland
