An original monotype print made using a gelli-plate, acrylic paint and my own handcut stencils and masks, with some direct painting on top, again in acrylics.
This is NOT a reproduction/a digitally reproduced print. It is handmade and is called a monotype since it is exactly that: a one-off print that does not come in an edition.
The paper measures 29.5 x 39 cms.
It is signed and titled on the front beneath the image in the traditional manner, and comes mounted, glazed (with glass) and a lovely, modern, wooden white frame.
it will be packaged securely for transit, sent insured and signed for delivery.
Please just send me a message/email if you have any questions, and thanks for looking.
PLEASE NOTE: NO SALE TRANSFERS THE COPYRIGHT, WHICH REMAINS THE SOLE PROPERTY OF THE ARTIST. PLEASE DO NOT USE THESE IMAGES WITHOUT MY PERMISSION, THANK YOU.
I have a thing about sleeping figures, it seems!!
As i was making some monoprints one day using the gelli-plate, with some roses patterns, I just imagined it as a lovely bedcover, and then I thought of the saying "a bed of roses" since I was working towards a solo show called "More Than Words," based on English expressions, which really interest me, as an ex-English teacher. The final image grew from there.
I made 2 monotype prints based on the same theme, "A Bed of Roses" simultaneously, on the same gelli-plate. See separate listing for "A Bed of Roses, 2".
