I wanted to make these earrings as simply as possible and for my purposes, fine silver was an ideal medium. Fine silver is softer than sterling, and could be hammered for longer without having to be heated often to soften it for further hammering. This might have damaged the glass beads when creating such an exaggerated shape from the rods.

Full description
I made this piece by hammering thick 2 mm solid silver wires flat on an anvil, so trapping the cobalt blue, spotty, British hand made Lamp-work beads on the wire permanently. The tops of the wires were then drilled so that they could be mounted on my hand forged sterling silver ear wires and the earrings were polished to a mirror shine. All of this silver-work was completed by me at my home in Sussex. They measure 35 mm or 1.5" long and are supplied carefully packaged in a small gift box.
