In the Spring of 2016 I started work on a collaboration project with BPN Architects, based in the Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham. I walked around the area to capture a sense of the place using drawings and photographs during my research for the project.
Building work was being carried out and scaffolding was in place and I noticed intriguing concealed spaces that were revealed in the process of new building or reconstruction.
At the same time as I walked around snapshots of larger (iconic) buildings (new and old) around the city could be glimpsed through the side streets revealing different angles, aspects and perspectives of these buildings.
This lead to me making a series of six prints themed 'Reveal, Conceal', referencing the changing landscape of building work interspersed with glimpses of iconic buildings around the Jewellery Quarter.
