A unique and striking nuno felted scarf. Made using a blend of orange merino wool nuno felted onto both sides of a cream chiffon scarf base this scarf has been shaped and pleated during felting to create an asymmetrical design. The nuno felting process allows the woollen fibres to migrate through the silk and bind with it. The fine, random layers of wool allows the silk to show through in places with a wonderful textured, crinkled effect caused by shrinkage of the wool during felting. The scarf is beautifully lightweight and soft. The top edges of the pleats have been blanket stitched with a golden yellow embroidery thread and the scarf is fastened at the neck with a magnetic closure. A handmade dorset button completes the design.
The neck opening measures approximately 50cm (19.5") with the maximum overall length being approximately 106cm (42")
A lovely gift for any occasion, this scarf is supplied wrapped in floral tissue paper or an option to receive it gift boxed is available in my shop. This scarf would make a striking addition to any outfit.
Hand wash in warm water, do not wring. roll in a towel to remove excess water, reshape while damp and press with a cool (wool/silk setting) iron.
