Iolite is someties known as Water Sapphire is is the most lovely indigo blue colour. It is pleochroic - in other words, the stone changes colour depending which angle you view it from. Indigo blue, grey and near colourless. This is a natural characteristic of this gemstone.
This simple and feminine necklace has been created from hand cut near oval nugget beads. Each one is uniquer in size and shape. Great quality gemstones for this kind of cut. Transparent and colourful, this necklace will work so well with so many items in your wardrobe.
I have hand knotted the gemstones and added sterling silver beads, waved tubing and a traditional style sterling silver pearl clasp. The clasp is secure and stamped 925 for sterling silver.
The gemstones range in size from 6mm - 11 in length. The necklace itself measures 45 cm or 18 inches in length approx.
The necklace adds a lovely splash of colour without being a bold design.
