Personally I love hats. I have long made functional everyday hats, but sometimes we want something just that little bit special. Formal and semi-formal hats allow me to be inspired by our vintage, early C20th textile heritage, they really knew how to wear a hat, while creating something that makes bespoke accessible to most.
This is a custom-made item and cannot be returned unless faulty.
Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.
Full description
This hat is sold but message me if you are interested in a similar hat made to order.
This particular hat is available with or without the pheasant feathers. The feathers are on a brooch pin so not a permanent commitment. A bespoke version, the choice is yours.
Completely unique, bespoke hats, made to order in felted merino in the colour combination of your choice. This allows each hat to be colour matched exactly to an outfit, perfect for that special day. Ideal for the mother of the bride or a winter wedding.
As with all my hats, I design them to be easy to wear. Visitors to shows often comment on how comfortable they are. Living in Argyll, Scotland we know that function has to accompany form. Hats should be enjoyable but not hard work to wear.
Every hat will evolve in its own way so each hat will have its own individual variations, all dictated by the way the felt has formed. My hats are created by hand using a mould to form the crown, allowing it to be made to the dimension required. Beyond that the brim and shape are all freehand. I love to keep the edge seam free to allow the filigree feel of the felted edge to shine through. Finishings are all added by hand - pleats, vintage buttons, felt flowers, ribbon.....
The pictures include a Black Brown commission of the Katarina.
