Terry Hawkins is the creative force behind Loving Slate. Born and brought up in Liverpool, Terry fell in love with the wonderful landscape of the Lake District as a young man. While walking the fells and valleys of the North Lakes, he developed a deep appreciation of outstanding beauty of Lakeland Slate with its rich texture and olive green hue. Having a keen interest in nature, he also derived immense joy from seeing birds and animals in their natural Lakeland environment. Being a talented and creative self taught craftsman, it was perhaps inevitable that Terry would combine his admiration of Lakeland Slate and his love of nature ...with incredible results!
