At Popinjay, I rescue tatty and unloved books, and turn them into something new and lovely. I picked up a box full of these vintage mixed language books from a local auction. With their leather spines and marbled covers, they look much older than they really are. I decided to build upon this illusion by creating a piece of theatre, inspired by the fantastic Harry Potter.

Full description
This lovely vintage book has been carefully carved and lined with coordinated reclaimed papers. The cover has been altered to recreate a Hogwarts study book from Harry Potter. It measures approximately 19 cm x 13 cm x 2.5 cm, with an interior measuring approximately 14 cm x 7.5 cm x 2.5 cm. This will make a beautiful ornament and handy storage box for tiny things. Why nor fill it with surprises for an alternative gift? Please note that I have multiple copies, so your item may not be the one in the photographs, but it will look just like it!

As with all vintage items, this may show signs of wear such as scratches, creases etc... All these just add to the character and the authenticity of the piece.
