I love the history of vintage suitcases.
Battered and bruised, each one tells a story.
Originating from the 1970s, this suitcase is well travelled and shows signs of wear and tear, with a few scuffs consistent with its age.
Overall, it is in very good vintage condition, with the only noticeable marks being some cracking around the lower rim, but this adds to its vintage charm.
The perfect shape for a pet bed, this vintage suitcase would add a touch of groovy seventies charm to any home.
PLEASE NOTE:
As the lid has been gently padded on the inside it is now a decorative feature of the pet bed.
This means the suitcase can no longer be completely closed, as this would damage the decorative edging.

Flamingos and tweeed.
This is a quirky pet bed, suitable for cats or smaller dogs.
It is made from a vintage 1970s suitcase, relined and padded.
The internal measurements are:
49cm x 32cm, with a depth of 10cm.
19.5 inches x 12.75 inches x 4 inches)
The lining fabric is a medium weight cotton with a whimsical flamingos design.
It is backed with a layer of cotton wadding, with a velvet ric rac trim around the lid.
The large base cushion is made from a tactile heather coloured herringbone wool.
There is a deep envelope opening to the rear, which is a lilac coloured wool.
This suitcase bed comes with two additional cushions.
The bigger cushion features blue and pink flamings.
It has a removable cover, with a deep envelope opening to the reverse.
The reverse is a lilac wool.
The smaller cushion features bright pink flamingos, backed with a lilac wool, also with a removeable cover.
All three cushion covers can be gently hand washed or specialist dry cleaned.
