Dearest customers. After some time away, I am back making crochet clothing with sustainable fibres again. A place with a hook and a still mind. I hope you like what I produce!

I work directly with the women who make my yarn in rural Northern India. See our yarn journey in the Folksy Blog. The yarns have been spun using tradtional techniques out of waste fibres left over from the sari mills in India. These materials would otherwise end up in Landfill and open rivers. The garments produced are unique like the yarn, the textures, and the fact that it is a sustainable raw material is also very humbling. I love working with these women!

Full description

Handcrafted pure Scottish wool crochet poncho. Luxury wool poncho from This shawl/shrug/poncho has been crocheted using handspun cotton and banana yarn made from waste fibres from the sari mills in India. Very very soft like cotton wool. Very durable and lovely drape to this garment.

Crochet Mushroom's studio is based in a little hamlet near the banks of the River Tay in North East Fife, Scotland. I am an independent textile artist. My work is produced using Scottish Tweed aran wool custom spun on the Isle of Harris, and a range of very unusual organic peace silks handspun by women's co-operatives in India. These silk yarns are from my own range of inspirational ethical art yarn found on Folksy at YarnYarn.

Designs are exclusive, contemporary and handmade in Scotland. Inspired by fusing cultures, northern Scottish landscapes and coastlines, and the love of a unique and rare yarn. I now sell all over the world from Orkney in Northern Scotland to Israel, Japan and the United States.
