Full description

This is an extra special organic silk yarn. It is one of the chunkiest yarns I have ever used and the most inspiring.

This is 100 grams of super chunky wild silk yarn. Made from wild silk cocoons by rural villagers in India. We support these women and families and their ancient crafts and silk making.

Magical wild silk yarn. It is chunky, undyed, made without any detrimental effects to the silk worm, the cocoons are from the wild, unlike mulberry silk which is cultivated. It is a silk yarn which has been handspun by women's co-operatives and small businesses in India using ancient traditional spinning.

Use Needles US 15-17 or larger.

Color: Rustic natural brown. Can be dyed. Softens with use.

100% pure organic silk yarn.

Naturally colored Tassar Silk. This Yarn is produced by boiling the Peduncle of the Tassar Cocoons, and after spinning work, this natural colored yarn is produce. This yarn is produced naturally in this color only, but can be dyed in any color. Grown and processed by hand in India, the colors of the silk are from the tannin of the plants that the caterpillar eats. It has a distinctive smell indicating its minimal processing. It's an organic yarn.
