100% pure sari silk ribbon

This sari silk ribbon yarn has a unique eyelash frayed edge to it. Great for textured fibre artwork! Sari silk ribbon is a by product of silk sari manufacturing in India, it is not produced from old saris. My silk sari ribbon is silk waste from the sari textile mills in India which would otherwise be destroyed. This beautiful handmade craft ribbon is made by women's co-operatives in rural India custom dyed for us. The silk sari strips are hand cut and tied end to end and made into yarn. These women live in porr deprived areas of India. They work together spinning yarns from waste materials from home. This is the only way to earn an income in these rural parts of Northern India. The spinning of these yarns allow them to have a quality of life and can afford to sent their children to school. This unique and magical art yarn can be used as a knitting ribbon, for crocheting, wall hangings, murals, embellishements, rugs, scarves, baskets, hats and many more. You can crochet with it, rug hook, or knit, I also have customers who love it for bas relief.
