I made these fine silver hearts from Silver Clay, which is made up of tiny particles of fine silver suspended in an organic binder, which can be moulded, textured and formed into all sorts of shapes. After the piece was formed it was fired in a kiln where the binder burns away, leaving a piece of pure, 99.9% fine silver, jewellery. Silver Clay is great fun to work with as it opens up all sorts of possibilities for shapes and textures.
The hearts dangle from sterling silver wire with Swarovski crystal bicone beads and have sterling silver earwires.
The hearts are approx 1.2cm x 1.2 cm and the whole drop is approx. 3.5cm (4.5cm from the top of the earwire to the bottom of the heart)
Each earring weighs approx. 1.6 grams.
I love to experiment with Silver Clay and the different textures you can create. Hearts are a lovely shape for all sorts of jewellery and I often use them. Swarovski crystals add a beautiful sparkle.
