A stunning dress scarf, ideal for those special occasions. This scarf has been nuno felted using very fine layers of a blend of black merino wool and rainbow strands of trilobal nylon on a black silk chiffon base. The resulting scarf is amazingly soft and lightweight. Although appearing black, the addition of the nylon strands gives it a rainbow glitzy effect when light catches it as illustrated in the 4th photograph. The scarf has been felted on both sides. Further sparkle has been added to one side using silver coloured sequins and black seed beads which have all been individually sewn on by hand.
Nuno felting is a technique which allows the woollen fibres to penetrate the underlying silk and bind with it.
The scarf is a dress length scarf designed to be draped around the neck rather than encircling it although the presence of the wool and silk will provide additional warmth in the winter but will remain cool in summer. It measures approximately 130cm x 40cm ( 51" x 16").
A fabulous addition to your evening wear and an ideal gift idea. The scarf is supplied wrapped in floral tissue paper making it an ideal gift idea.
Hand wash in warm water, do not wring, roll in a towel to remove excess water and reshape while damp. Press on a warm setting (wool/silk) or using a pressing cloth. Do not machine wash or tumble dry.
