Herdwick sheep are a very familiar sight on the Lake District fells and much loved by visitors and walkers. This Herdwick Lamb is made from beautiful green slate from the Honister Slate Mine near Keswick. It stands approx 3.5 inches long and is approx 2.5 inches in height, though sizes may vary due to the variable thickness of natural slate. A Herdwick Ewe is also available. A beautiful gift for the home or garden - especially for Lakes lovers!

Terry Hawkins is the creative force behind Loving Slate. Born and brought up in Liverpool, Terry fell in love with the wonderful landscape of the Lake District as a young man. While walking the fells and valleys of the North Lakes, he developed a deep appreciation of outstanding beauty of Lakeland Slate , and in particular Honister Green Slate with its rich texture and green hue. Having a keen interest in nature, he also derived immense joy from seeing birds and animals in their natural Lakeland environment. Being a talented and creative self taught craftsman, it was perhaps inevitable that Terry would combine his admiration of Lakeland Slate and his love of nature ...with incredible results!
