In 2013, my husband and I moved to Bali, Indonesia. In our two years in the region, we saw first-hand the devastation caused by palm oil cultivation: the loss of virgin forest that is home to endangered orangutans, tigers, and so much of the world's biodiversity.
We knew we wanted to become part of the solution and slowly began weeding palm oil out of our lives. I discovered that all of my store-bought soaps, lotions, washes, shampoos, and cosmetics had palm oil lurking in their ingredients labels, if not directly, then in the form of sodium laureth sulfate, cetereal alcohol, and so many other guises.
We decided to marry our mutual love for nature and animals with my passion for botany and aromatherapy, and it was then that Bloomtown Botanicals was born. In 2015, we moved to my husband's home county of Cornwall to dedicate ourselves fully to making ethical, nourishing and deliciously scented goodies for bath, body and home.

Every bar of Bloomtown soap is handcrafted from scratch the old-fashioned way. No machines. No melt-and-pour bases.
The cold-process method, while more difficult and pain-staking, retains more of the natural goodness of the 8 different plant oils in our recipe: Coconut Oil, Shea Butter, Olive Oil, Cocoa Butter, Rose Hip Seed Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Rice Bran Oil and Castor Oil.
The result is a perfectly balanced soap bar that's highly cleansing, yet non-drying, and mild enough for daily use on the face, hands and body. Coloured with natural clays, micas and botanicals and scented with our six signature Bloomtown blends:
