I simply fell in love with the shape and design of this gorgeous little piece, the way the legs step out and the overall feel of it are qualities which modern day furniture just lacks. The original satin interior and original draw pull really are just wonderful. I can see it gracing a sunny conservatory with a vase of pure white lilies sitting on top and a glass of wine to the side! Or maybe just a lovely cup of tea!

I was really excited to find this lovely little sewing box, it has a fabulous shape and still has its original satin interior (there are a few little marks, but it's only to be expected considering its age!); this doesn't, however, detract from its beauty.
Due to it's really lovely condition, I decided to keep the polished wood on the lid of the piece, so painted the rest of it with fabulous Annie Sloan Old Ochre, stencilling across the top with a repeat damask style design allowing the wood to show through. This has created a lovely overall appearance, striking and yet subtle enough to fit with any colour scheme. The sweet little draw has the original pull which I simply cleaned and buffed, the draw sides have been stencilled in primer red and distressed to add a pop of colour and design.
A really lovely little item which would be perfect as a coffee table where you could also store magazines, books or even your iPad; or could still be used as it was intended for all you sewers and knitters out there. A very stylish little craft box!
