Step back with me to the beginning of 2013 when my youngest daughter was 3 years old.
At the time she went to pre-school and although she loved it, she found the saying goodbye part quite tricky. We had been reading a book about a little duckling who was worried about starting school until Mummy duck plucked out one of her feathers for the duckling to have with him at all times to remind him that she loved him and would be waiting for him at home time. So inspired by this story, I had the idea of making a little hand sized felt heart to pop into my daughter’s pocket as a reminder that Mummy loves her very much and I'll be back soon to pick her up. She liked to keep her heart tucked in her sock!
The hearts really worked and still do today if she’s worried or is doing something new which she’s a bit unsure about.

These little hand sewn hearts are made to be slipped into pockets as a love reminder.
They are particularly good for days when your child is nervous about doing something new such as starting school or moving up to a new dance class, or for days when they’re a bit worried about something such as a spelling test or going on a school trip.
However, they could be used at any time, just imagine how loved they’d feel to find one of these nestled at the bottom of their coat pocket, hidden in their shoe or popped into their pencil case!
The heart is a gentle reminder that they are very much loved and that you’re thinking of them.

3 hearts: 1 x bright pink, 1 x pale pink, 1 x apple green
Made from:
Felt and polyester fibre toy stuffing.
Dimensions:
Designed to be the perfect size for little hands and discrete enough to fit into small pockets, each heart measures approximately 4.5cm by 5cm. As I cut, sew and stuff each one by hand, the sizes may vary ever so slightly.
