I have been experimenting with alterative methods of colour meta,l and in particular copper, that was not reliant on chemicals. Heating copper enables many colours to develop - it is difficult to get exactly the same colour patterns on every piece but that is what makes this process so frustrating so these earrings are a pair but as you will see the patterns created by the heat treatment is not identical - but it is interesting and makes them truly unique

Full description
These simple yet stunning copper earrings are cut from sheet copper. they are 3.6cm long and 0.0cm wide. I have textured them with a hammer and drilled holes in a random pattern. I then applied heat to the copper until I achieved the red/orange colour you can see in the picture. The method used to colour these earrings means that the colour patterning is not exactly the same on each earring - but that is what makes them truly unique.
The ear wires are made from sterling silver.
