The rose is my favourite flower, but they don't last very long. I made this beautiful brooch using the technique of needle-felting so I can have roses all year long.

Beautiful Red Rose brooch handmade by needle felting.
To create an item by needle-felting, I have taken soft fluffy wool, and stabbed it hundreds of times with a barbed needle until it becomes a solid felt shape. In this way I have created the individual red rose petals, then assembled them into a 3D rose. At the base I have added two pale green felted leaves which I have accented with hand-embroidered veins.
I have attached the finished flower to a silver coloured metal safety brooch pin. This lovely handmade brooch measures approx 7 x 5cm (2.75 x 2 inches).
As a perfect finishing touch it comes cushioned on tissue in a little heart-shaped decoupage red rose gift box.
This is a gorgeous little gift for a loved-one, for Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, an Anniversary, Lancashire Day, or as a little treat for yourself.
