Full description
This is a hand-made representation of a 'Moai' statue from the Polynesian island of Rapa Nui. It is made from durable stoneware clay, with the features taking inspiration from the original historical pieces.
The Moai are huge stone statues carved in the shape of human figures with oversize heads, created by the islanders during the 13th–16th centuries.
This piece, inspired by the Moai, measures 8cm tall and is glazed in a matt, stony grey-brown glaze. As well as being a decorative item, the figure could also be used as a 'jewellery keeper' to make sure you never lose those small items of jewellery again.
