This piece was born after looking at the centre hanger and the oak one on the left for a week or so. They were on my burning pile but I simply couldnt burn them as I knew there was beauty hidden within. I sat carving out the old wood and dirt etc. The bits looked great as round logs with bits poking out of them when all of a sudden the inspiration hit me and it was full steam ahead. Once I had cut the rounds in half and attached them to the douglas fir back board I remembered I had a stainless steel drawer handle knocking about. I cut and shaped the handle to make the extra hangers which give the whole piece a brilliant and very unique look. After lots of sanding I gave the whole piece 6 coaats of oil.
This beautiful hanger will look great in the hallway for coats and just as good in the bathroom for towels or dressing gowns.
