'Reflected Birds Two'
As part of my Tenement Series, I studied many designs, structures and shapes from a variety of build. Our ever changing Scottish climate provided multiple character and feel to the architecture. From dreich, overcast skies creating a rich, dark sandstone to strong sunlight projecting unique shadows and reflections.
Over the years, these historic apartments have become home to a multitude of TV ariels which sprout across the roof lines as flocks of birds spend their day either perched or in flight around drain pipes. Chimney smoke lines are included to enhance and compliment the tenement's ageless look and tradition.
For colour, I contrasted the famous and traditional sandstone and gold yellow brick against vibrant palettes whilst maintaining a hint of Glasgow's grey, overcast skies.
